Carrie Hersh, DO, MSc, speculates on how the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC) in Nashville, Tennessee, promises an array of exciting presentations and discussions. Dr Darin T. Okuda will kick off the event with the John F. Kurtzke Memorial Lecture, challenging prevailing perceptions of MS. Dr Fred Lublin will deliver the Presidential Lecture, reflecting on 30 years of MS therapy.
The program includes platform and poster presentations covering topics such as the real-world effectiveness of disease-modifying therapies, pediatric MS, aging populations, and the safety of therapies like ocrelizumab, particularly during pregnancy. Studies such as the CHIMES trial will explore the effectiveness of ocrelizumab in diverse populations, including Black and Hispanic individuals. In addition, the multidisciplinary nature of MS care will be underscored through rehabilitation projects and initiatives focusing on patient education, caregiver support, and symptomatic management.
