A Medscape survey asked US physicians to evaluate government health insurance programs (Medicare and Medicaid), from the perspective of both an individual doctor and a medical practice. They revealed that some workplaces are limiting the number of patients with Medicare or Medicaid coverage, either by informal policy or based on individual doctors' decisions. Also, physicians expressed high levels of irritation with reimbursement rates and time to pay claims, particularly for Medicaid.
